A wonderful time on the beach

Cadzand-Bad is a famous seaside resort. Its beach, along with Domburg's, are the only two Dutch beaches to officially be labelled 'curative'. Seaside resorts can receive this designation if the beneficial effects of seawater, climate and soil products have been studied. The vast beaches are perfect for soaking up the sun in the summer, or taking in the fresh air in the colder months. Kite flying in Cadzand is also great fun! Did you know that Cadzand is home to an annual kite festival? You can admire kites of all colours and sizes, it is a sight to behold!

History in Cadzand 

In Cadzand Dorp, you will find the Gothic Mariakerk (Maria Church), a two-nave church built with yellow Flemish bricks. The church is located in the centre of the village between Mariastraat and Prinsestraat. The 'Nooitgedacht' mill is another important feature of the Cadzand skyline. Today, the mill dominates the landscape from afar and as such is the village's landmark. Visit this mill to see it in action, but don't miss the opportunity to buy flour here for some delicious pancakes or healthy bread. In and around Cadzand, the centuries-long battle between man and the sea is an obvious feature in the many quays, dikes, salt marshes and mud flats.

Marina 

If you would prefer to spend a day at sea, Jachthaven Cadzand (the Marina) is the perfect starting point. You can enjoy a beautiful view of the sea here and sail in several directions. Turning right, for example, you will sail towards the Western Scheldt, or turn left to head in the direction of the North Sea and the Belgian coast. You could even choose to sail straight ahead, towards England. It's your choice!

Southern Neighbours

If you're renting a cottage in Cadzand, it's well worth crossing the border to visit our southern neighbours. The fashionable seaside town of Knokke is a great place to spend a day wandering around and shopping! If you prefer some peace and quiet, why not opt for a stunning hike through the Zwin nature reserve, right on the Belgian-Dutch border.
