Winter Sports Destination

What to do in Winterberg? We don't need to tell you this, of course: in winter, Winterberg is a popular winter sports destination. With a bit of luck, the landscape is completely covered in snow. Whether you're a skiing pro or strapping on skis for the first time, there are a total of 34 different ski slopes, including several cross-country trails suitable for both beginners and advanced skiers. The ski area is spread across four different mountains: Kahler Asten, Bremberg, Poppenberg, and Herrloh.

Prefer not to ski? You're also in the right place if you want to try something different. How about ice skating at the ice rink? It measures 400 square meters and offers fun for the whole family. You can also go sledding and snowshoeing. Get ready for picturesque scenery!

Winterberg Without Snow

As white as this small town is in the winter season, it turns green in spring and summer. Winterberg without snow is also a beautiful place to explore: numerous hiking and cycling trails take you through the beautiful nature, rich in forests, lakes, and valleys. For the daredevils among us, there are also various climbing routes. Tobogganing is also a popular activity in Winterberg. There are several toboggan runs where you can slide down. The most popular toboggan run is the 700-meter-long track on the Kappe, which is illuminated and open in the evenings. Fun for young and old!

Hiking Trails

The nature in Winterberg is beautiful, both in the late and early seasons! And whether you're putting on your snowshoes or shorts: hiking is always a good idea because there are numerous hiking trails available. With various hiking routes to choose from, there's something suitable for every hiker, ranging from short walks to long-distance hikes. Prefer to hop on a bike? There are also some fantastic mountain biking trails, especially on Kahler Asten and Kappe. Didn't bring your bikes? They are available for rent here! Finally, Winterberg also has some interesting attractions, such as the St. Georg ski jump, the bobsleigh track, and the salt museum.

Being so active also calls for some rest! Of course, you can also relax in Winterberg. After a busy day full of activities, enjoy a wellness treatment at one of the many spas. You can always visit the cozy town center: here, you'll find many shops, bars, and restaurants where you can indulge in local dishes (schnitzel!) and beer.
